Another pamphlet published by him was entitled The Church of Christ described. During the last three or four years he had much difficulty with his church and congregation, and he was dismissed from this charge in the summer of 1772, after preaching there about fifteen years. He rem. to Rutland, Vermont, then a new country, where he bought a farm with three log houses, March, 1773. Emer son of Concord, Mass., who d. at his house. Many were added to the church under his care in this place. In OA., 1779, he preached the election sermon before the legislature at Man chester, N. H. According to the records of East Rutland church made some ten years after his death, he preached for the town about seven years ; the residue of the time, about seven years, he was supported chiefly by individuals, but the town records show votes for the temporary hiring of him to preach as late as 1784. He received his A. M. from his Alma Mater, also from Yale College, also from Dartmouth in 1784. His will is dated March 15, 1787.
