About Benito Seda Vélez
Benito Seda Vélez was a very hardworking man. Son of a carpenter, José Manuel Seda Rodríguez, he did not follow his father's steps. He was also a pioneer in the show design business and had a small shoe factory at Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. He died young, due to a pyelonephritis or kidney disease. Benito or "Beno" was extremely handsome, and women used to fight in front of his house, to gain his attention. He could also be very slow whenever he did not want to go some place. He died on April 4, 1930, on the same day that the 1930 US Census was being taken on his street.
