A genealogy written between 1897 and 1904 by the wife of a seventh generation descendant, Nancy Bemis (Mrs. Orville K.) Butterfield, says that Benjamin and Elizabeth Butterfield "lived at Frances Hill near Westford [MA]," which was the same phrase used in George Gordon's 1890 Butterfield genealogy for NEGHS.

19 Jun 1749: order to appraise real estate and set off widows thirds to Elizabeth. 15 Sep 1749: set off to "Elisabeth the abovesd Deceaseds widdow", "to William Butterfield son to the s'd Deceased", "to the Heirs of Benjamin Butterfield the Eldest son of the above s'd Deceased". 7 May 1750 minor alteration in response to petition by William Betterfield and the widow.
