About Benjamin Carle
Oldest child of Samuel and Elizabeth (Berry) Carle; not seen in the 1790 census, although -- by then -- he was married and soon to be a father. Like several other Scarborough men, he was an early settler in Leeds, Maine, having moved there as early as 1788. In 1800, he and his family are seen in the U.S. census for Leeds, Maine, but are not found in any subsequent records.
