Daniel and Mary are buried in Bentz Cemetery, Meigs County, Ohio. Benjamin was a corporal in the Civil War, Co. G, Engineering Corps. Benjamin was married to Susannah J. Rhodes or Rhoads. They had six children: 1. Charles W. Gillilan, b. 1867; 2. Joseph Henry Gillilan, b. 24 Oct 1868 d. 25 Oct 1942; 3. Sophia Gillilan, b. 30 Mar 1874 d. 20 Jan 1960; 4. Ripley Merton Gillilan, b. 16 Oct 1877 d. 20 Dec 1945; 5. John Milton Gillilan, b. 1881; 6. William Gillilan, b. 16 Sept 1884 d. 2 Oct 1884.
The current grave marker in Asbury Cemetery for Benjamin was acquired from the Veterans Administration office in the Athens County Courthouse by Benjamin's grandson Robert (Bob) Gillilan and his wife Helen.
