1883 Beers History of Brown County, Ohio, pg. 287: BENJAMIN and SARAH (Pindell) HAYS, were natives of old Virginia. The former was born May 5, 1777, & the latter October 2, 1782. They were married in Virginia, & came to Brown County in 1811, located in Franklin Township, where he was among the earliest pioneers. Mr. Hays died on the farm of his early settlement, January 8, 1868, & Mrs. Hays, September 28, 1860. Of their eleven children, seven are living.
