Benjamin married Elizabeth Owen, the daughter of John Owen and Deborah (Williams) Owen, in Poultney, Vermont on April 16, 1788.[24][2]

Ralph Dornfeld Owen's book "Descendants of John Owen of Windsor, Connecticut (1622-1699). p. 120 Elizabeth Owen-Hill married 16 April 1788 to Benjamin Hill. For a few years they lived in Granville, Washington County N.Y. just across the Vermont line. here were born their two oldest Children, Chloe 31 Oct 1789 and Clarissa 2 Oct. 1791. After 1795 they moved to Milton Vt. where 8 more children were born.
