Biography
Elizabeth Owen, the daughter of John Owen and Deborah Williams, was born August 6, 1768. She moved with her parents to Poultney, Vermont, where she was married April 16, 1788 to Benjamin Hill. Their two oldest children, Chloe and Clarissa, were born in Granville, Washington, New York. In 1795 they moved to Milton, Vermont. They had 8 more children at Milton: Elizabeth, William, Lydia, Benjamin, Daniel, Sabra, Hannah, and Julian Allen. After her husband Benjamin died in 1823, Elizabeth married Andrew Ellis. Elizabeth died at Colchester, near Milton on January 5, 1848. She was buried in the Congregational cemetery at Colchester. [1]
