From: http://www.migrations.org/individual.php3?record=9415: Benjamin Johnston, the son of William and Ann Chew) Johnston, married Dorothy Jones, daughter of Gabriel and Mary (Edmunson) Jones. They brought their children to Jefferson County, (Virginia) Kentucky. Their children are: Gabriel Jones Johnston (1759-1815), WIlliam Johnston (1760-1798), Mary Ann (Johnston) Harrison (born 1762), Benjamin Johnston (1763-1837), Frances (born 1763), Robert (born 1766), Jonathon (born 1768), Phillip (born 1770), Susannah (Johnston) Lewis (born 1773), General Washington Johnston (born 1777), and Nancy Ann Chew (Johnston) Gray (born 1781). Their father, Benjamin, was a judge, and a town clerk in Fredericksburg, Virginia, in 1774. He was a Revolutionary War veteran, and he also rode and warned General Campbell of a Cherokee Indian attack in April of 1780. Benjamin and Dorothy both died in the Falls of Ohio (Louisville) Kentucky. This information was mainly gathered through Virginia and Kentucky history books, Mormon records, and through family papers.
