Benjamin Judd was born about 1642. He was baptised on 10 Apr 1658 in Farmington, age 15 in about Mar 1657. [Ref] He died in 1689 in Hartford. [Ref] He married Mary Lewis [Ref] in 1667. [Ref 4;1843]
Benjamin was a freeman in 1669 in Farmington. [Ref 4;1644]
On 28 Oct 1675 the Farmington church considered the request of William, Thomas, John and Benjamin Judd and John Standley, Jr. to move to Mattatuck (later Waterbury). The church cautioned them of the dangers and pointed out that they might not be better off in terms of land. The church members wondered why someone as materially well off as William would want to move. [Ref]
Benjamin Judd and his wife were in full communion in the church in Farmington on 1 Mar 1679. [Ref]
Administration on Benjamin's estate was granted to his widow on 6 Nov 1689. [Ref 1;474] Inventory was taken in 1689. Benjamin's estate amounted to about 267 pounds. His legatees were Benjamin Judd, age 18 years, Mary 14, Sara 12, Hannah 8, Nathaniel 6, Hester 3, Jonathan, one year old. [Ref 1;474] Apparently his wife died not long after Benjamin and administration on Benjamin's estate was granted on Mar 1691/2, to his son Benjamin, his (presumably) brother John Judd and his (presumably) brother in law William Lewis on Mar 1691/2. [Ref 1;473-4] Benjamin's children were named as Benjamin, age 21 years, Nath aniel 8, Jonathan 3, Mary 16, Sarah 14, Hannah 11, Easter, 6 years old. [Ref 1;473]
