In the Fall of 1816, Benjamin and Vincent sold their land in Virginia and bought land in what is now Gaston County, Vincent bought 185 acres lying on both sides of Stanley Creek. Benjamin bought 50 acres lying on Dutchman's Creek east of the Great Road. This tract was sold to Vincent in 1833 and sometime after that, Ben went to live with Vincent.
