1. Mary Charity Voiles b: 1794 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina 2. Joseph Voyles b: 5 MAY 1795 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina 3. Jonathan Voiles b: 1796 in South Carolina, went to Texas with his uncle Nicholas Voiles/Voyles, he married Rachel Voyles born in Indiana, in Illinois and I suspect that Rachel is the daughter of Nicholas Voyles. Rachel states on a census in Texas, that she was born in Indiana. According to June Voyles Nicholas served in the war of 1812 from Washington County, Indiana. John M. Voiles son of Nicholas was also born in Indiana. Nicholas Voyles, did serve from Indiana in the War of 1812. Nicholas married Deborah and was the brother of Benjamin Voiles,and brother in law of Esther Seals Voiles. 4. Benjamin Reece Voiles , Sr. b: Dec. 1802 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina 5. The first persons to settle in Hickory township were Jonathan Viles, Nicholson Viles, his uncle, William Stevenson, a son-in-law of Nicholson Viles, and Amos Richardson. In the spring of 1826 this party of pioneers crossed the Illinois river at Beard's ferry, and taking up an old Indian trail, followed it along the bluffs until reaching a point where Butlersville now stands, where they halted, and for a time camped together. They all settled along the bluffs and raised a few crops, and all but Amos Richardson, moved out of the township. He remained here, and about 1830 was shot and killed by Burrell Basset, who was then a resident or squatter. This affair is said to have occurred from trading wives. It says that Nicholas is Jonathan's uncle This is also saying that William Stevenson is Nicholas's son in law...Nicholas is also in the Histories of Montgomery/Bond Co., Illinois. In this History he is called Voyles.

In 1840 Nicholas and Jonathan are in Crawford Co., Arkansas before going to Texas.

Benjamin Voiles was in the War of 1812. In June of 1813 he was in New Orleans.
