Was Julia Bolton's husband's name Benjamin Wright or William Wright? The 1792 Marriage Settlement identifies the groom as Benjamin Wright, merchant of Dublin. The marriage license also identifies him as Benjamin Wright. However, some sources suggest he may have changed his name to William just before he died in 1801 in Maryland. Further exploration and documentation are needed.
Benjamin Wright was the 8th child of 12 born to Quaker parents John Wright and Abigail Smithson who were active in the Ballinclay, Co. Wexford, Society of Friends. John Wright built a meeting house and provided land for a Quaker cemetery on his farm. Their son Benjamin died in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1801. There was a Quaker community in Baltimore and it is possible that he had travelled to Baltimore on Quaker business but this is pure speculation.

Irish Registry of Deeds (ROD) Deed 288844, 1792, Vol. 444, pp 337-338 - Marriage Settlement
This copy of the marriage settlement between Julia Bolton and Benjamin Wright was registered 21 Feb 1792 with the Registry of Deeds in Dublin, the day after their marriage. It is available on FamilySearch.org -. Four stakeholders are involved: part 1 - William Bolton of Ballinvally, Co. Wexford, father of the bride Julia Bolton; part 2 - Benjamin Wright, Merchant of Dublin, the groom; part 3 - Julia Bolton the bride, and part 4 - Abraham Bolton, the bride's brother, and James Cowley (the bride's brother-in-law but not identified as such in the deed). Together they agree that William Bolton will provide his daughter with 400 pounds as a dowry in return for which Benjamin Wright will provide goods as well as 400 pounds should he die before Julia or should he not be able to support her or any future children to a reasonable standard. James Cowley was a lawyer and it is possible that he drafted this document to protect his sister-in-law. This document is on two pages.
