GEDCOM Note

The 1880 NZ electoral rolls list that 2 Benjamin de Malmanche's enlisted, one lived in German bay and the other in Robinson's bay. Both were Labourers, this may of been father and son or it may be the same person listed twice. Neither owned any land at the time.</line><line /><line>His headstone inscription reads:
In loving memory of Benjamin, died 25 July 1937 in his 97th year and Mary Ann de Malmanche died 12th May 1929 in her 87th year.</line><line /><line>Lyttelton Times 30 January 1864 page 5 Marriage

De Malmanche book has 26 Jan 1864 for marriage</line><line /><line>Tales of Banks Peninsula compiled by Jessie Mould page 46: Ben was a dairy
farmer at Robinson's Bay on land leased from H.G. Saxton. Later, in early
1890's he leased 2 acres from V.V. Masefield at Gough's Bay and for 10
years had a sawmill there. He made a trip a day with bullocks pulling
totara and black pine logs. The timber was shipped out in boats.</line><line /><line>1877 Akaroa Electoral Roll:
