Bennie Leonard Dekko was born in Gary, MN, on April 25, 1886, to parents Engebert Knudson and Augusta Skinderviken(Vick)Dekko. Bennie served his country as a Private in the United States Army in World War I. Bennie Leonard married Alice Bertina Bakke. To this union one daughter was born, Zelda Mae (Spencer) Skretvedt. They raised a niece, Janice Mae Marie Bakke (Clinton) Bendickson . Bennie had the following siblings: Ed Adolph—Ole—Henry Martin—Melvin (Lula Bakke)—Louis—Belle (George) Olson. Half brothers Knute and Severt and half sisters, Bertha—Caroline—Maria –Christine . Bennie died on February 1, 1981.
