Ber Krisztal, 95, Shawnee, KS passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Shawnee Gardens. Graveside services will be 12 noon Tuesday, March 20 at Sheffield Cemetery followed by burial. Kindly omit flowers. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society . Ber was born in Poland to Isaac and Sara Krisztal and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1921, at age six. He immigrated to the United States with his wife and three sons in 1967 at the age of 50. He worked in many sales positions and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in the late 1980s. Ber submitted articles to the bilingual Spanish/English newspaper in Kansas City, Dos Mundos and had his own Spanish radio show in special programming with KCNW Radio AM 1380. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years Sofia and his daughter Sara. Ber is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Gerardo and Bonnie Krisztal, Milwaukee, WI, Ruben and Sandra Krisztal, Leawood, KS, Roberto and Maurizabel Krisztal, Bolivia; grandchildren: Brandon Krisztal, Melissa Krisztal, Erica and Leland Felsenthal, William Krisztal, Michael Krisztal, Kendra Krisztal, Felipe Krisztal and Roberto Krisztal, Jr.; great-granddaughter: Violet Sophia Felsenthal and many nieces and nephews.
