Bernard Tucker

                                             BERNARD TUCKER

   Bernard Tucker  was the son of William Tucker who was born in Freeman^s  Bay Auckland ,in 1859 . William Tucker married Sarah Jackson in 1891 in Clive Havelock North, Hawkes Bay, she was born in 1872 in Oxford, London, England. William died in 1942 and Sarah died in 1948, in Havelock North.  They lived in St. George St. Hastings. William Tucker was a retired farmer. William and Sarah had 8 children 6boys and 2 girls. Bernard Tucker was the 5th child.

         Bernard Tucker was a Postmaster, being at one stage in Ashurst,in the South Island, Masterton, Manuwatu, Rodney , and lived laterly in West Auckland in Waitakere, and Te Atutu.

             Bernard Tucker and his wife Edith Rachel Tucker (nee Young) are buried just across the road from us, in the Waikumete Cemetery, in th Westerd Lawn B Row 3 Plot 60.
