On an unkown date in 1943, Lilly Berg was transported together with her husband Alfred Davids from her home in Amsterdam, North Hollland, Netherlands to Westerbork transit camp, province of Drenthe, Netherlands. The records of Westerbork indicate that on March 30, 1943 she was deported from Westerbork to Sobibor, one of the six Nazi "resettlement" (i.e. extermination) camps located in Poland. She was never heard from again. Based on the average "resettlement" time for Westerbork inmates sent to Sobibor, the Netherlands Red Cross has assumed her date of death to be 2 April 1943. |
