Bertel Thomassen Gran

Ukjent hvem som var foreldrene hans. Forpaktet gården Gran, men man antar at han bodde på gården Sandberg, og at det var sønnen som drev gården Gran

His descendants has been investigated by the book handling the Frol-family. His whereabouts is not known until he leased the farm Gran. It has been assumed that he might be the son of Søren on Rustgården (Inntrønderslekter page 58). Another theory is that he is the son of Bertel Thomassen, local policeman in Skogn in the period 1680-1696, running the local policeman farm Sandberg. It is reasonable to believe that he, without his own farm and having two grown children, wanted to get his own farm. Himself continued to live on the farm Sandberg, while his son Bertel took over the farm Gran. Bertel Thomassen hardly descend from Skogn. He is probably a descendant of Bertell Jonson and wife Kadrin who bought the farm Storborg from Jacob Mattisen (Rømer) in 1488. Bertel is not a common name.

His daughters name was Bereth, born approximately 1674, died before 1734 at Hegle. She married two times (her husbands were brothers) and she had alltogether 8 children. Her descendants are named the Hegle family.
