Bertha Levi Mrs. Bertha LEVI, 88, a pioneer resident of Rochester, died Saturday, 10:15 at her home 1017 South Pontiac; prior to that time she had been enjoying exceptionally good health. Mrs. Levi, who resided in Rochester for nearly four score years, had a host of friends throughout the city and county. At the time of her death she was associated in the business of the Levi Dry Goods store which was established by her late husband many, many years ago. Bertha, daughter of Levi and Yetta (LAUER) HEILBRUN was born in Cincinnati, O., on September 11, 1860 and came to Rochester with her parents when but nine yers of age. She was married to Maier LEVI on June 2, 1881 at Rochester. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1918. Mrs. Levi was the last living charter member of the Order of Eastern Star, of Rochester. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Clyde ENSMINGER, of this city; a sister, Mrs. Julius RICH, of Selma, Ala.; a brother, Samuel HEILBRUN, of Kansas City, Kan. and a granddaughter, Mrs. Charles ESSIG, of this city. A daughter, Florence and an infant son preceded her in death. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced in Monday's edition of The News-Sentinel.
