Mrs. Viola Kleinhesselink, age 71, Alton, passed away Saturday, September 23, at the Orange City Municipal Nursing Home.
Bertha Viola was born October 11, 1917, at Doon, the daughter of John J. "Joe" Reinders and Johanna Noteboom Reinders. On February 16, 1937, she married Arthur Everett Kleinhesselink at Orange City. They farmed just southwest of Alton.
For many years, "Vi" was a dietician at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. In 1982, they moved into Alton. Since August of 1988, she has been a resident of the Orange City Municipal Hospital and Nursing Home. She was a member of the Alton Reformed Church, where she had been active in-the ladies' organizations of the church.
Survivors include her husband, "Art"; daughter, Sheryll, and her husband, Roger Koster, of Orange City; son, Edward, of Alton; three grandchildren, Kara Schriner, Kyle Koster, and Karisa Koster; great-grandson, Nicholas Schriner; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Lois) Visser, of Orange City; and Mrs. John (Margaret) Post, of Lady Lake, Florida.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 26, at the Alton Reformed Church, with the Revs. Raymond Tilstra and Robert Vander Schaaf officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
