MRS. BESSIE STANFORD (sic)
Mrs. Bessie Pruitt Stanford, 62, wife of W. F. Stanford (sic) of Whitney, died at General Hospital Tuesday afternoon after a short illness. She was a daughter of the late Jim and Susan Horn Pruitt.
She was born and reared in Spartanburg County and had lived in Whitney for 20 years.
Mrs. Stanford is survived by her husband; five sons, James of Una, Leroy of Whitney, Jennings of Spartanburg Route 6, William of Chesnee and Herman of Whitney; four daughters, Miss Elsie Mae Stanford (sic) of the home, Mrs. Hazel Tippon of Spartanburg, Mrs. Faye Gwinn and Miss Sarah Griffin of Whitney; seven brothers, Amos, Joe, Silas, and Jerry Pruitt of Glendale, Paul of Bessemer City, N. C. and Toy and Isaac Pruitt of Whitney, one sister, Mrs. Daisy Williams of Whitney; also 18 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by M. W. Bobo Funeral Home.
