Considered the "Grandparents of the East Tennessee Morelocks", George and Elizabeth Bachman Morelock were of German descent and supposedly spoke German. He was born in Germany, is recorded as coming to America in 1771, and then marrying Elizabeth Bachman a few years after that. Although there is no concrete proof, it is thought by many that George was the son of Jacob and Betsy Morelock, because of old land records, etc.

Her birth date and location are confirmed by the 1850 census for Greene County Tennessee. There are two family trees online that show her birth date as Oct 1763. One has a location of Northampton Borough, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, and the other is Saucon, Lehigh, Pennsylvania. Neither gives a source.

Elizabeth lived past 1850. She is found in the 1850 Greene TN census living with daughter Anna, age 87 and is not seen again in census records. She is also seen in the 1836 tax list for Green County Tennessee.

The marriage source below gives confirms the marriage, but does not give a date or location. It also gives here birth year as 1763. There are family trees online that give 1776 and 1778 in PA without sources.
