About Beth Skelton
The Standard Journal, 06/11/08 Beth B. Reese Skelton, 79, of Rexburg, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1929, in Benson, Utah, to Emil Berger and Florence Annie Mair Berger. When she was 3-years-old, her father died, leaving her mother and sisters to run the farm. Needless to say, she learned the value of family and hard work. She married Ross N. Reese on July 30, 1947, in the Logan Utah LDS temple. They lived at Preston, Montpelier, Soda Springs and Idaho Falls and then settled in Rexburg in 1962. They later divorced. Beth worked at Sears in Idaho Falls for a few years until they moved to Rexburg, where she worked in the family business at Reese Realty. She was elected Madison County clerk in 1990 and reelected in 1994. She enjoyed working with the fine community officials and employees. She married James Stephen Skelton on March 31, 1995. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, sewing and playing board games. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many devoted years in young women and Relief Society. She will be remembered as a "classy" woman who was kind and loving and worked hard her entire life at home, church or the workplace. She felt that "a job worth doing is a job worth doing well." She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, James S. Skelton, of Rexburg and daughters Kathy (Robert) Dansie of Idaho Falls, Janice (Tom) Dixon of Broomfield, Colo., Nancy (Ted) Whyte of Rexburg and Candis (Mike) Bischoff of Mesa, Ariz., sisters Iva Lou Balls of Hyde Park, Utah, and Wanda (Clyde) Anderson of Salt Lake City, 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Ella Mae Wursten and Gladys Anderson.
