About Bette Cooler Hopkins
Mrs. Clack D. Hopkins, Jr. Elizabeth Cooler Hopkins of 931 Kincaid Drive, wife of Clack D. Hopkins Jr., died Monday in a local hospital. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion. Burial, Directed by McAlister’s will be in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hopkins was born March 10, 1930 in Jasper County, a daughter of Rufus Cooler and Coy O’Quinn Cooler. She attended Jasper County schools and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion. Surviving are her mother of Jasper County; her husband; three sons, Donald Henry Garbade Jr. of Beaufort, Richard L. Garbade of St. Augustine, Fla., and William H. Prouty of Grahamville; a daughter, Nancy G. Horry of Grahamville; three stepsons, Clack D. Hopkins III of Charleston, and William P. Hopkins and Robert R. Hopkins, both of Mount Pleasant; three stepdaughters, Posey Haynie of Lake Charles, La. And Mary Ann Workman and Helena K.P.
