Elizabeth J . "Betty" Smith , 83, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Lima, died Feb. 23, 2009, in Pittsburgh. She was born June 21, 1925, in Lakewood to Edward R. and Clara Schwieterman Ellerbrock, who preceded her in death. She married Miles V. Smith , who preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Lima until she moved to Pittsburgh in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Smith (Martin) Henderson; two sons, Allen D. (Judy) Smith and Thomas D. (Alison) Smith ; six grandchildren, Curtis A. (Mary-Catherine) Smith , Douglas E. (Kerri) Smith , Gregory M. Smith , Michael A. Smith , Matthew T. Smith and Mary E. Smith ; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Rose Catholic Church. Friends may call immediately following services at The Old Barn Out Back.
