Betty Rae Nicols

Mum was a wonderful wife, mother & grandmother. Her family was very important to her. Mum worked very hard helping dad in the tobacco industry & she took on schoold cleaning when Claude was very young. Working til ill health made her retire. She looked after dad through his illness whilst continuing to work. Mum played golf. Mum absolutely adored her grand children & spoilt them rotten. Mum was involved in a lot of things in Ashford. She was on the baths committee to get the baths built, she was on the Progress Associtation, hockey committee, hall commitee. Mum not only loved her immediate family but her siblings were very important, she always made contact with them & let everyone know what was happening in everyones lives. She kept the families together.
