About Bienvenido Tantoco Sr.
He and his wife Glecy established Rustan's Department Store in 1952. The name of the department store was taken from the first syllable of the couple's surnames: "Rus" from 'Rustia' (Glecy's maiden surname) and "tan" from 'Tantoco'. He served as the Philippine Ambassador to the Vatican from July 1983 until April 1986.
