About Big Rattlinggourd Watts

Chief John "Young Tassel" Watts was elected Chief of the Chickamauga Cherokee after the death of Dragging Canoe on March 1, 1792. As with most other early Cherokee men, his wife or wives are unknown.

He may have been married to a woman named Wurtagua, b 1760.

He may have been the father of men called Big Rattlinggourd and Hard Mush.
