About Bilhah Thompson
Bilhah Terry, daughter of Isaac Terry and Margaret (Downing) Terry was born 8 August 1739, in Enfield. (See Note A). Her grandparents were Capt. Samuel and Martha (Boardman) Crane Terry; and Capt. Nathaniel and Margaret (Pynchon) Downing.
Bilhah had eleven siblings, all born in Enfield: i. Margaret Terry, born 7 July 1735, married Isaac Kibbe. ii. Michal Terry, born 4 December 1736, married Selah Terry. iii. Clara Terry, born 4 December 1741. iv. Jane Terry, born 23 March 1744, married Nehemiah Chandler. v. Isaac Terry (30 May 1746 - 22 October 1746). vi. Isaac Terry, born 15 August 1748, married Hannah Abbe. vii. Ann Terry, born 24 September 1750, married Moses Bush. viii. Martha Terry, born and died 6 February 1753. ix. Zeno Terry, born 20 August 1755, married Tabitha Abbe. x. Achsah Terry, born 19 November 1757, married John Chandler. xi. Roxanna Terry, born 1759, married Eli Bush.
Bilhah married John Thomson, son of James and Jennet (Scott) Thomson. They had six children all born in East Windsor, CT: 1. James, born 10 September 1763, married Anna Allen, daughter of Joseph and Lois (Burnham) Allen. 2. Miriam, born 1763, married Benjamin Allen, son of Joseph and Lois (Burnham) Allen. 3. Joseph died at 8.5 years (25 February 1768 - 1 October 1776). 4. Isaac died at 6 years (18 June 1770 - 28 September 1776). 5. Jennet died at 4 years (20 August 1772 - 27 September 1776). 6. Margaret died at 1.5 years (20 March 1775 - 9 October 1776).
Bilhah died on 10 April 1776, in East Windsor, Connecticut, at age 36 years, 8 months and 2 days; and was buried in Melrose Cemetery.
Note: A. In 1739, Enfield was part of Massachusetts. It wasn't until 1749 that a lawsuit was settled in which it was determined that a surveyor's error placed a section of present day Hartford County (including Enfield) within the boundaries of Massachusetts, the town seceded and became a part of Connecticut in 1749.
