MILLERSBURG — Bishop Henry H. Beachy, 85, of 5779 Township Road 127, Millersburg, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at his home.

He was born Aug. 21, 1932, to the late Henry N. and Sarah (Schrock) Beachy, and married Ada A. Yoder on Nov. 29, 1955. She survives.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church, and was ordained as minister on May 3, 1978 and bishop on Oct, 3, 1979.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Aden (Naomi) Beachy, Anna (Eddie) Troyer, Wayne (Laura) Beachy, Abe (Cindy) Beachy, Dora (David) Troyer, Mose (Elnora) Beachy, Ruby Beachy, Ruth Beachy, Junior (Vesta) Beachy, Atlee (Freda) Beachy, David (Anna), Dena (Jonas) Raber, Barbara (Norman) Miller, Emanuel (Anna Mae) Beachy, Curtis (Miriam) Beachy and Joseph (Miriam) Beachy; 86 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren; brothers, Aden and Syl Beachy; and sisters, Lizzieann Raber, Anna Hershberger and Arie Keim.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Allen and an infant son; a great-granddaughter; a son-in-law, Wayne Raber; brothers, Emanuel, Christ, Andy, Mose and Elmer; and sisters, Katie Ann and Clara.

Services will be Sunday, Nov. 12 at 9 a.m. at the Beachy residence, with minister Aden R. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Beachy Cemetery, Mechanic Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Beachy residence. Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is assisting the family
