BISHOP PITTS / Circa 1769 - Circa 1805
The fourth of nine children born to Samuel Pitts (1736 - 1802) and Mehitable (Bishop) Pitts (1741 - ????). Bishop Pitts was born circa 1769 in Massachusetts.
Bishop Pitts married Sybil Johnson, a daughter of Elisha Johnson and Hepsabeth (Adams) Johnson. Bishop and Sybil (Johnson) Pitts are thought to have been parents to up to four children -- 1.) Elisha Johnson Pitts / 1799 - ????, 2.) Samuel Pitts / 1802 - ????, 3.) Orine / Orene Pitts / 1804 - ????, and 4.) Anna Pitts / Circa 1805 - ????. Of these, there is no supporting documentation referencing Anna Pitts.
Bishop Pitts passed away, circa 1805, in Massachusetts. Details regarding cause of death, exact date of death, and interment are undocumented. It is known that his widow, Sybil (Johnson) Pitts, remarried within approximately one year. With her second husband, Samuel Holden (thought to have been born Jan. 21, 1769 in Westminster, MA), she was parent to at least six more children.
