Blanche I. Helmeid, age 88, a resident of Cedar Crest died there Wed., Aug. 27, 2003. She was born in the Monroe area on June 7, 1915, the daughter of Elmer and Bessie (Loomis) Phillips. She married Clayton L. Helmeid on July 8, 1933 in Monroe. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1995. Blanche had been a Janesville resident since 1953. She did baking for Marshall Jr. High cafeteria, Parker Pen and the Janesville Health Care Center. She also farmed with her husband for many years in the Edgerton area. Blanche was a member of First Lutheran Church and she enjoyed traveling with her husband, cooking and puzzles. She is survived by her 3 children; daughter-n-law; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; brother; sister; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Roger; 2 granddaughters, Sarah and Melissa Helmeid; brother, Roy Phillips; and 4 sisters: Genevieve Helmeid, Ruth Borchert, Hazel Mason and Esther Wardlow. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sat., Aug. 30, 2003 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Linda Kersten officiating. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Schneider Funeral Home.
