About Bob L. DeWitt

Robert Lee "Bob" DeWitt, 74, of Mt Sterling, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 26, 2009) at his residence. Born Jan 20, 1935, in Brown County, the son of Ora Lee and Emma A. Flynn DeWitt, Bob married Virginia L. Rose on June 27, 1954 in the Mt Sterling First Christian Church; she survives.

Bob was a lifelong Brown County farmer and was the fourth generation of his family to operate the family farm. He attended Brown County schools and was a member of the Mt Sterling First Christian Church.

Bob enjoyed his family times whether it was fishing, family dinners or grandkids spending the day or overnight.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia L. DeWitt of Mt Sterling

Three children: Randy DeWitt and wife, Debbie, of Mt Sterling Mike DeWitt and wife, Vicki, of Timewell Patty Duke and husband, Mike, of Chino Hills, Calif

One sister, Bertha Northup of Mt Sterling.

Eight grandchildren: Shawn DeWitt and wife, Karey Melissa DeWitt, Ryan DeWitt, Stephanie DeWitt Jessica Matthewson and husband, Dave Bobbi DeWitt, Eric DeWitt Makenzie Duke

Four stepgrandchildren: Lindsay, Michele and Perry Wilkerson and Leslie Boren

Eight great-grandchildren: Mallory and Sophia DeWitt Shelby Bowman Hunter Boren Kayden Behymer Lilyan Hogan Logan and Samantha Matthewson also survive along with several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Visation 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Hendricker Funeral Home, Mt Sterling and Sunday from 8 a.m. until time of services on Sunday.

Services 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hendricker Funeral Home, Rev. Lee Reffett officiating.

Burial in the Hersman Cemetery south of Mt Sterling.

Memorials to the Mt Sterling First Christian Church or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
