About Bobbie Jean Weatherford
Bobbie was born to Lone Allison and Willie McDonald. She grew up on a cotton farm and graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1948. Married William Weatherford and moved to Flint, MI in 1949. She got a job working at A.C. Spark Plug in 1950 until she retired in 1981. She was involved in the UAW from around 1982 and became the president for retirees' chapter UAW local 651. She continued to serve as the president of this chapter for about 30 years up until the time of her death.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, William Weatherford; son, William Weatherford, Jr. and his wife, Anne Weatherford; three brothers: Paul Allison, Lowell Allison, and Jack Hawkins; and three sisters: Jennie Willenkamp, Beatice Marray, and Alta Crawford.
