About Bonnie Elizabeth Kealen

QUINCY -- Bonnie E. Kealen, 83, of Quincy, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at Blessing Hospital.

Bonnie was born Feb. 27, 1932, in Quincy, the daughter of Richard and Anna Whelan Newberry. She married Donald Kealen Sept. 1, 1951, in Quincy. He survives.

She was a 1950 Quincy High School graduate and was employed as a looper in a hosiery mill. Bonnie was a member of Bible Baptist Church, where she was the head of the day care. She loved to sew, crochet and knit, especially when she was making presents for friends and family. Bonnie enjoyed puzzles and always was interested in genealogy.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Donald, include a daughter, Debbie (Robert) Chamberlain of Quincy; a son, John (Judy) Kealen of Lowpoint; four grandchildren, Jennifer (fiance Caleb Arnsman) Chamberlain of Quincy, Nat (Erin) Kealen of Germantown Hills, Charlotte (Trevor) Silver of Lowpoint, and Gunnery Sgt. Johnathan Kealen of Yuma, Ariz.; eight great-grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Emma, Ella and Elaina Silver, Jack, Andrew and Sam Kealen; three sisters, Betty Bergman of Columbia, Mo., Trudy (Ray) Stupavsky and Mary Bradley, both of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers-in-law, Bob Bergman and James Bradley, and a brother in infancy.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Pastor John Kealen and Pastor Nat Kealen officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
