Bradford Freeman was born on September 4, 1924 in Artesia, Lowndes County, Mississippi, United States. His parents were Ervin Freeman and Ollie Freeman. He was a Paratrooper (US Army), mail carrier, and farmer.
Bradford married Willie Louise Freeman (Gurley). Together they have the following children: Beverly Bowles (Freeman); Becky Clardy (Freeman).
He was the last living member of E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army -- otherwise known as the famed "Band of Brothers." Per the U.S. Air Force:
In 1942, Freeman enlisted in the Army. Shortly after enlisting, he volunteered for the paratroopers. He was then assigned to Easy Company as a mortarman. In 1944 he parachuted into Normandy on D-Day with his fellow service members and an 18 pound mortar baseplate strapped to his chest. ... Freeman was in every major engagement in Europe during World War II, and helped guide the realism in the HBO television series "Band of Brothers." His experience helped the series emulate the reality of what Easy Company went through.
He lived in Caledonia, Lowndes County, Mississippi, United States.
