- "SPETSAI, Greece (AP) _ Horace Fuller, a retired U.S. Marine Reserve brigadier general and a veteran of the Guadalcanal campaign in World War II, has died after a battle with cancer, a doctor said Wednesday. He was 81.
- "Fuller, a resident of the Spetsai for the past 10 years, died late Tuesday at the Greek island’s health center, according to Dr. Christos Ressos.
- "Fuller had recently traveled to the United States, where he underwent several operations for cancer, Ressos said. It was not immediately clear what type of cancer he suffered from.
