Brigham Pond, born June 9, 1853. He and his wife, Aroetta Whittle Pond and their young son, Charles, came to Lewiston in the spring of 1877. Brigham and his brother, Louis, bought eighty acres of land from John M. Bernhisel for $6 per acre, and 80 acres from Robert Wall.
Brigham Pond was twice married. His first wife had a large family. His second wife, Catherine Whittle Pond, was married to Brigham in 1885. This second family moved around from place to place for a number of years. However, Catherine and her nine children settled in Lewiston on the farm of Brigham where the two families lived in love and harmony.
Active in Church and civic affairs, Brigham was the first Mayor of President of Lewiston Town Corporation. In 1890 he was called to fill a LDS mission in Kansas.
Brigham Pond passed away December 26, 1933.
