1911 June 18, Sunday Times, Perth "Naughty Mrs North & Brownlow the Biter, Who was bit."
[Summary] 13 June 1911 court case in which Brownlow Francis Gordon North asked for a divorce from his wife Maud Louisa, David Neave being names as the co-respondant. Mr. North met Maude Louisa in 1908 when she was Mrs Richards. An "ultra-tender" relationship was entered into & Mr. Richards divorced her [North being the co-respondant]. Mrs Richards & Brownlow North then went to England & Decree Nisi was declared absolute, they married 27 March 1909. Soon afterwards North returned to WA to sell his furniture & in his absence Mrs North struck up a relationship with artist David Neave and announced that she was his wife in effect & expecting a child. A decree Nisi was granted.
The article continues on to described Brownlow North as of Cottesloe & her previous husband "Long" Richards as the sometimes secretary of the Kalgoorlie Club. Browlow is then described as the younger brother of F. D. "Piggy" North. Brownlow is aged 42 & was in Government service in Bunbury or somewhere but chucked up his job in favour of yachting, dog fancying, philandering and playing fuges and fantasias on a golden flute....But "Piggy" has had much better luck matrimonially than Brownlow, whose very temporary helpmate was well known in Kalgoorlie a few years ago."
