Died around May of 1918 in France being listed as killed in action while serving with the 28th Infantry. His body was never recovered and a marker bearing his name is in the Arlington National Cemetery. Copies of his letters to his father, "Pike", along with a letter from his brother, Isacc, to "Pike" regarding Bryan being listed as missing were published in the July, 18 1918 Graham Leader. There is also a notice of his inclusion on the "missing" list but not certain published on the same day or in same paper.
