About Burt Sugarman
Burt Sugarman is an American television producer best known for producing the iconic 1970s/early '80s showcase for rock-n-roll groups The Midnight Special.
He also produced the television shows The Newlywed Game; Celebrity Sweepstakes; The Richard Pryor Show; Whew!; and The Wizard of Odds. For film, he produced Kids Me Goodbye, Extremities, Children of a Lesser God, and Crimes of the Heart.
Sugarman married Mary Hart in 1989; they have one son. He had previously been married to Pauline Schur and to the late actor Carol Wayne, and was engaged to entertainer Ann-Margret in 1962.
