Burton Oscar Christiansen - obiturary Burton Oscar Christiansen passed away peacefully on September 19, 2005 in Portland, Oregon. Burt was born on July 12, 1927 in Belvedere Gardens, California. He attended high school in Los Angeles, California and joined the Navy at age 17. Burt served on the US Saratoga in World War II. After his time with the military, he returned home to take care of his family. During that time, he gained employment in the masonry industry and began his own masonry business. In 1954, he married Donna Loiuse Huff and continued his masonry business. Burt followed his passion of drawing and found himself pursuing and industrial design career with his company Property Concepts Inc. He enjoyed his many travels to Asia, especially the art and the cuisine. Burt is survived by his three children, Randi Brewer, Richk Christiansen, Delisa Christiansen, his daughter in law, Heather Christiansen, his five grandchildren Megan, Shannon, Rian, Jamie and Skylar, and his three siblings Carl (Bud) Christiansen, Norma Clarno, and Marie A. (Dixie) Matthews, all of whom he loved greatly. Burt's sister, Camilla Deffenbaugh, predeceased him. Funearl servics will be held at 1:30 p.m on Friday, September 23, 2005 at Rose City Cemetery and Funeral Home. Private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver, Washington.
