About Burton Milo Reynolds, Sr.
Decorated WWII veteran, police chief and father of actor Burt Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was awarded the Bronze Star and five major battle stars and became a first lieutenant.
In his 1994 autobiography, My Life, Burt Reynolds said of his father:
"If he stood in a doorway, the light disappeared. On entering a room, all the oxygen seemed to be sucked out. In other words, this man had a presence my friend John Wayne would have envied. He didn't shrink from problems, just grew even larger and more formidable."
