About (CSA) William Thomas Hale
He was a Civil War solider, Company H 15th Missouri Cavalry. Gary Hale posted: Tom is buried with his second wife, Louisa Jane Gaddy Hale. His first wife, Hulda Paralee Williams, is buried in the High Cemetery in Carroll Co., AR. He was divorced from both wives at the time of his death. He was known in the area as "Uncle Tom" as were many of the older inhabitants. He owned land in Stone County and considered himself a "laplander" as his land lapped over into Barry. His name was William Thomas Hale, not Tom J., he went by his middle name as did many of his family. Donna's Note: His death certificate gives his age at death as 77 years, 9 months, and 23 days. He was a retired farmer. His father was Turner Hale, TN, and his mother's maiden name was Butler, born TN. W. R. Hale, Sarcoxie, MO, was the informant.
