Birth
Caleb Burbank was the son of Samuel Burbank and Lydia (Bartlett) Burbank. No record has been found of his birth. He was baptized with four of his siblings at Haverhill, Massachusetts, on 12 Nov 1727.[1]
Capture by Indians
Caleb Burbank was one of eight people, including his father Samuel and his brother Jonathan, captured at Number Five, New Hampshire (later the town of Hopkinton) on 22 Apr 1746 by a force of Indians of the St. Francis tribe allied with the French, He was tken to Quebec and imprisoned there. He was later released, and he arrived at Boston on the French ship La Vierge-de-grace in August 1747.[2][3]
Marriage
Caleb Burbank married Mary Wadkins. No record has been found of the marriage, but the will of Mary's stepfather, David Woodwell, made on 2 Dec 1762 names Mary, the daughter of his wife Mary by a former marriage, now the wife of Caleb Burbank.[4]
