Caleb Kimball, I

Lived in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. A colonial soldier, serving under Captain Lothrop, who died in the Battle of Bloody Brook. The soldiers were guarding a haul of grain that teamsters were moving to storage.

Like many of the men killed at Bloody Brook, Caleb was unmarried and childless.

The Caleb Kimball (1647-1675) who died at Bloody Brook was the son of Henry Kimball (d abt 1676) and Mary Riddlesdale Wyatt Kimball (d 1672); and grandson of Richard Kimball (abt 1595-1675) and Ursula Scott (abt 1621-August 12, 1672). Some otherwise excellent records give the incorrect father for Caleb, confusing him with his uncle.

Caleb was the third of Henry and Mary's thirteen children: Richard, John, Caleb, Dorcas, Abigail, Sarah, Henry, Mehitable, Benjamin, Joseph, Martha, ______, and Deborah.
