"Caleb Tarr's will signed May 14 1752 and proved June 8, 1759 named his wife Martha and appointed his second son Joshua Tarr, executor. His eldest son Caleb was to recieve equally with his other sons, but no more. Three daughters, Martha Pool, Mary Goss, and Hannah were also named; Hannah, evidentently unmarried, was to "be made equal" to her sisters, and Caleb specified "that my daughters shall have each of them a comfortable house lot upon my land." Witnesses were Benjamin Tarr, Jonahan Wallis, and Ebenezer Cleavland, the first two of whom testifed when the will was proved."
