The will of CALEB TODD recorded in Rowan Co.,NC (WB E p 30) and in Wilkes Co., Georgia reads as follows:
“In the name of God, Amen! 24 Sept 1794 I, CALEB TODD, of Rowan County and State of NC being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, and knowing that it is for all men once to die, do make and ordaine (sic) this my last will and testament which is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of God and my body to be buried in a decent Christian maner(sic)at the discretion of my executors and as touching such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and depose of the same in the following maner (sic) Item First of all I will that all my debts and funeral charges be discharged. Item I give and bequeath into my beloved wife MARGARET TODD ½ of my land, all my houses, cattle, hogs and sheep and all my farming tools and all the household furniture. Item I give and bequeath unto CALEB TODD my son ½ of all my lands and I do revoke, disavow, and make void all other wills and testaments heretofore made by me, Declaring this alone to be my last will and testament. And I do designate constitute and appoint my two sons CALEB and JOSHUA TODD executors to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal.
