PIONEER WOMEN OF PLYMOUTH, 1800-1850 Mrs. Erastus Johnson [Candace West] who came to Plymouth in 1821 from the East, was a very strong, hearty pioneer, a woman who had many hardships to overcome, a genial, kind and social woman, who raised a family of ten sons and five daughters.
